It's the winter solstice
and dark at four
but spring fills
the crisp air
in my nostrils.

Light evenings
anticipating summer
buzz in my chest.

Water cascades and splashes
to the warm earth,
content
and filled with growth.

Shoots becoming leaves
becoming unfurling petals
are patient and sure.

This is my life
I carry inside.

"This is how I felt inside with my second initiation. It comes and goes but it's also what comforts me when life sometimes brings a black cloud." — Carol (Tunbridge Wells, UK)
